As I said last time, I intended to make the next Game Music Thing be one based on the Ace Attorney series. Here is that one.
To make this somewhat simpler (since otherwise I'd just be posting the entire soundtracks for all of the games), here are some rules. For each game that has the same type of track throughout the series (courtroom, objection, pursuit, etc.) I am going to pick the one (1) that is my favorite from one (1) game. Beyond that, however, for game/character specific stuff, I'll just go with whatever.
Prologue. Winner: Justice for All. It's Tocatta and Fugue. Enough said.
Courtroom Lounge. Winner: Ace Attorney. Toss up between this one or the one from Justice for All, so I went with this one.
Trial Begins (aka the Courtroom theme). Winner: Trials and Tribulations. Seems far more epic sounding than the others. Also, it's used to great effect at the very end of the last trial in T&T, which made it stand out for me. The one from Ace Attorney Investigations that was kind of a remix mishmash of the one from Ace Attorney and the one below was pretty cool too.
Cross Examination (Moderate). Winner: Justice for All.
Objection. Winner: Ace Attorney. This is a no-brainer, for me. The others are just pale imitations. Well, except for Edgeworth's in his own game. That one's awesome too.
Cross Examination (Allegro). Winner: Justice for All. Had to go with that one again.
Pursuit (Cornered). Winner: Apollo Justice. I was sorely tempted to go with the one from Ace Attorney, but I like the one from AJ just a tiny bit more, even if the one from the first game does make a very dramatic comeback in the third game at the perfect spot.
I'm going to stop there with the shared themes. There are a few more, but that's enough.
Now, just for the character specific stuff (in rough order of game appearance).
Turnabout Sisters (Maya's Theme).
It's Detective Gumshoe! At first, I thought Gumshoe's theme was kind of lame, but it's in pretty much every game, and it increasingly tends to pop up during the more and more frequent occasions when Gumshoe is being awesome, so it really grew on me. It got a pretty cool remix in the Edgeworth game, too.
Great Revival (Miles Edgeworth's theme from Justice for All). Edgeworth is best prosecutor.
With Pearly (Pearl Fey's theme). It's pretty much just a cutesy remix of Turnabout Sisters, but still... there you go.
The Fragrance of Dark Coffee (Godot's theme). The third best prosecutor, after Edgeworth and Klavier Gavin (sorry Franziska).
Scientific Detective (Ema Skye's theme from Apollo Justice). A remix of her more kiddyfied theme from Ace Attorney and AAI. I much prefer the AJ version.
Child of Magic (Trucy's theme).
Guilty Love (Klavier Gavin's theme). Second best prosecutor in the series.
There are plenty of other awesome character specific themes, like Steel Samurai and Mask☆deMasque and Jake Marshall's theme and Detective Badd's theme, but I mostly just wanted to touch on the main characters.
Yeah, I'm going to stop here.
(EDIT)
Okay,two three more.
Psyche Lock (when using the magatama).
Perceive - Surging Eyes (when using Apollo's Perceive ability)
Reproducing the Scene - The Gentleman Thief's Secret Weapon (when using the Little Thief).
