All I can say about this is... wow. o_O
Well, I can say a little bit more than that, I guess, and here it is. So yeah, that Paul Trowe guy sounds like a real douchenozzle. And I know this really isn't the most important aspect of this affair, but it also sucks for the recent attempt at a revival of the Leisure Suit Larry series. I'd rather have it just be stopped dead in the water now instead of continue on without Al Lowe's involvement. We already saw what happened when people tried to make LSL games without Mr. Lowe, and let me tell you, the result ain't pretty.

Okay, having looked into this whole thing a bit more, I will just say now that even if more LSL remakes do get released by Replay, I won't be buying them at all if it means that even a dime of that money will go into Paul Trowe's pocket. This is despite the fact that I backed the Reloaded remake on Kickstarter, played it when it came out, and thought it was pretty cool. It's sad. Rather than Al Lowe (and Josh Mandel) leaving, I wish that Replay could somehow find a way to kick this Trowe asshat to the curb instead, and bring Lowe and Mandel back again. Then, perhaps, I might be willing to buy any new games they make in the future.
Ah well, if nothing else, it's not like this unfortunate mess has made the original games somehow no longer exist. While I would have liked to have remakes of them (and then a potentially all new game, as the plan apparently was), I don't need them, particularly if Al Lowe is no longer involved. It sucks that Mr. Lowe ended up caught up in this, as he seems like a really cool guy, even beyond the whole "father of Leisure Suit Larry" thing.

Not that this is the first time that Al Lowe has been caught up in a bunch of shady skullduggery. :/ (I was going to say "chicanery" but noticed that I'd already used that in the post I'm linking to there.)
Also, it looks like it's a good thing that most of the other former Sierra devs decided to do their own things rather than get mixed up with this Trowe guy like Mr. Lowe did. This is even ignoring the fact that Trowe may or may not have been trying to actively sabotage their projects later, as well.
