Didn't sleep well last night. Whether that is because of the shitty dreams I had or if those were merely a symptom, I don't know.

Fragments I remember from the dreams:

- I'm back in "school" again. As I've said in previous entries, that's a red flag that the dream is going to suck right there, already. I'm sitting in a desk in the front of the room. The day is about over and everyone is about to leave. The generic, nondescript teacher is packing things up and getting ready to go. We have assignments that we need to give to the teacher or else the teacher won't grade them and just automatically fail them. For some reason, I can't get mine out of my binder or bookbag or whatever the hell it was. I'm getting increasingly frustrated and the teacher is getting increasingly impatient. That's it for that one, or at least I don't remember anything more than that.

- I'm in a place that I think of as "back in Washington again," even though the actual dream locations are not anything related to real life. I'm standing on this tall, high bridge with a sort of creek or small river running under it, and a walk path to the side of that with a high metal fence. I decide, for some reason, that I need to be down on that walk path, so I just up and jump off the bridge. I start floating down toward the walk path. As I'm floating down, I'm thinking that it's taking longer to get down there than it should be, and not just because I'm floating, but more because I apparently misjudged the distance. I finally land and hit my hip on the top of the fence which causes a brief amount of dream "pain" which immediately goes away. At this point, I realize that I'm only wearing a red hoodie (I've only very rarely ever worn a hoodie IRL) and my underwear, but no pants or shoes or anything else. This alarms me, not because I'm outside in my damn underwear, but because I left the key to my condo in my pants which are back in my condo, and now I'm locked out. Except that I find the keys in the pocket of the hoodie, so crisis averted. Except that when I return to my condo (which, like everything else, isn't anything at all like how the outside of my actual condo looked), the door is already cracked open a bit. I open it fully and there is a 10-12 year old boy on the other side of it. My first thought is that he's there to steal all of my video games. I ask him what the hell he's doing in my condo and he says he was trying to use the phone or something. I shoo him out and he's trying to get me to help him or something and I just close the door in his face and lock it. That's it for that one, same as above, except that just after I close the door, I look down at my screen for the "final" time (see below).

- A sort of recurring thing throughout both of the above (and the other, similarly fragmented shitty dreams that I had last night but don't remember anything about now, other than that I had other, similarly fragmented shitty dreams beyond just those two which had this third thing as a shared element) is that I keep glancing down at a small screen or monitor that I'm carrying with me. On the screen is the top down view of several buildings. Several of the buildings are glowing white, some of them are flashing red, and some of them have turned gray and are no longer glowing. It's some sort of video game-y thing where the white buildings are occupied, the red ones are "under attack" by something, and the gray ones are destroyed. By the time I got to "the end" (whatever that entails, because none of this shit was in any real, coherent, linear order), all but one of the buildings are gray and the last white one starts flashing red. This whole scenario of looking at this screen felt like the worst part of all about the dreams, for whatever reason, and is the most immediate thing that was on my mind when I finally woke up.

So yeah, crappy dreams and crappy sleep. One probably caused the other, but I'm not sure which is which.
