My comment on this article as copy/pasted from Facebook:
Yeah, this was certainly a predominating element of Irredeemably Toxic Shithole (aka Gamergate) as well. Irredeemably Toxic Shithole, as many have previously pointed out, was pretty much the training-wheels version of what became the far/alt-right/a significant portion of Trump's base, regardless of whatever asinine "actually it's about ethics in video game journalism" lies they tried to use to justify their bullshit.
Also, "dominated by" does not mean "exclusively composed of," a point which too many in the comments under the article try to (perhaps disingenuously) argue against, i.e. the worse-than-useless #NotAllMen crowd who get their underwear all twisted whenever anyone dares to broach this topic. Yes, there are women in the far/alt-right/Trump's base (as well as in Irredeemably Toxic Shithole). Yes, there are non-white people in the far/alt-right/Trump's base (as well as in Irredeemably Toxic Shithole). But these groups are, indeed, absolutely dominated by angry, white, pathetic men.
