The rolling of my eyes right now, if they were hooked up to a big enough electrical capacitor, could provide centuries of power to the world.
So... impeaching Trump would be bad because "it would divide the country"? Um... have you not been paying attention for the last two years? *Having* *Trump* *as* *President* *is* *already* *dividing* *the* *country* you fucking imbeciles. It's "just not worth it" to try to do the right thing? Because politics, I guess.
And if you claim to have been waiting for it to "be a bipartisan effort," well, then you had no intention of ever doing anything from the get go, because it was, as you well knew, **NEVER** going to be a bipartisan effort. The. Republicans. Do. Not. Care.
I mean, yeah, sure, I already knew that when the Democrats took control of the House, they were going to do exactly jack and shit about Trump, aside from whatever new, ineffectual "investigation" they started up, but hearing it confirmed doesn't make it any less goddamned enraging. Of course, even if the House *had* legitimately moved to impeach Trump, it's not as if the Mitch McConnell-controlled GOP Senate would have ever voted to convict him, obviously, given that they are mired just as deep in the bullshit as Trump himself is, so I guess it's just as well that they're not even going to waste everyone's time and potentially embolden Trump all the more when the Senate inevitably cleared him. *shrug + weary sigh*
They damn well better revisit the decision when the Mueller investigation is complete, though. Assuming that completes soon enough to make any difference. (But even if it doesn't happen soon enough to matter as far as impeaching Trump vs voting him out or whatever, I still hope it leads to Trump and all of his lickspittles spending the rest of their shitty lives in prison, regardless.)
In other words, politics is fucking horseshit. Always has been. Always will be.
