Welp, my current Terraria playthrough lasted right up until a random-ass power outage, earlier today. At which point I noted that I had turned off auto-saving at some point, for reasons, meaning that I lost several hours of playtime. But then, strangely, when I went back in, I noticed that the map was showing some construction shit that I'd done more recently, just before the power outage, but when I went to that actual location in-world, nothing was there (or, rather, the world was still unchanged from what it had been before I started said project). And also, the map "updated" as I approached, erasing the more recent stuff that it had been showing and replacing it with the older shit that was actually there. Since I basically couldn't trust my saves anymore, I just sighed, deleted my character and associated worlds, and uninstalled. Maybe I'll give it a whirl again in another year or three.
