It's kind of weird, and increasingly so, how for me, a guy who does not have kids and will almost assuredly never have kids, my favorite segments of these guys' podcast, by far, is when they spend half an hour or more just talking non-stop about their kids. This, as opposed to lamenting whatever bullshit the modern video game industry or gen AI/LLMs have inflicted upon us today or some such thing, as they usually do 90% of the time. I mean, I still like (for a loose definition of the word "like") that stuff, too, but the baby stuff is genuinely (perhaps even strangely, for me) uplifting.
Two specific things...
Talking about needles, I've never liked needles, but I've never really had a problem with needles, either... up until the last time I had blood drawn for a medical thing a few years ago, during which I unexpectedly had a vasovagal response, which wasn't great at all.
Talking about potentially eating screws, I did in fact swallow a screw once as a child. The main downside of this, for me, was that, per doctor's instructions, I was introduced to the utterly delightful world of emetics for the first time. And let me just say, that was a super fun experience that I remember most fondly. ⸻⸻¬_____⸻⸻¬
