Roblox is one of those "hearing the music from outside the room" type of things for me. Or, rather, more like "hearing the music from a building a block or three down the street," in this particular case. I've heard of it in passing, I'm vaguely aware of what it is, but that's about it. I've never used it, and I've never had any interest in using it, mainly because I've always seen it more as "kids' toys" kind of stuff than anything else. Or, at least, everything I've ever seen and heard about it has given me that impression of it, even if that may or may not be what it actually is.
And, as such... yeah, it comes as no surprise whatsoever to me that it's apparently a magnet for groomers and pedophiles, especially if oversight and user protections are as nonexistent as Woolie and Pat claim them to be here. And especially especially if Roblox is actively attacking the ones trying to make it safer[1], presumably because Roblox's entire business model, ostensibly, has become catering to those same whale child predators in the first place.
What Woolie and Pat describe at the end sounds like yet another "Fuck no! Ew!" type of situation. I.e. people publicly promoting a thing while personally avoiding said thing like the plague in their own private lives because they have first hand knowledge of how scuzzy it actually is.
Also, I liked how Woolie and Pat very deliberately and obviously referenced Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein without ever once saying the names "Donald Trump" or "Jeffrey Epstein." (Psst, nobody tell Trump about the existence of Roblox, or he just might find a new favorite pastime besides golf. ¬_¬)
