Yeah, wouldn't it be great if the reason for the delay was that they're putting in the offline mode that should have been there from the start? I'm not going to hold my breath, though.

If they put offline single-player back in, then they will have lived up to my expectations. If they don't, then I don't care how much extra time they take to work on it, their game will never be "ready" as far as I'm concerned. But then, when "the expectations of our players" directly conflicts with "our vision for the game," take a wild guess as to which one trumps the other. I'll give you three such guesses, and the first two don't count.

(By the way, what's so "quasi-" about this? Either the game is delayed, or it is not.)

I would say the "unexpected problems" they're referring to is probably how the beta was already hacked to run with a simulated server or whatever it was - to let it be played without connecting to them. That's the only thing that would satisfy their propaganda of "lives up to our vision" and "the expectations of our players" (From their clouded little view that they keep speaking of naturally, rather than what their players actually expect.)
