Remember that HD remake of Leisure Suit Larry that I mentioned a while back? Yeah, it's now a Kickstarter thing as well, apparently.

Date: 2012-04-05 06:37 pm (UTC)From:I know the LSL Kickstarter has already been mentioned on most of the bigger game blogs/news sites, at least the ones I somewhat pay attention to, anyway. About half of the reaction appears to be along the lines of "Well, looks like Kickstarter just jumped the shark with this" or "I'd pay NOT to have a new LSL game" and the like. I don't agree with that sentiment, obviously, but I can kind of see where they might be coming from. I think a lot of that, though, may have to do with the fact that the last two LSL games were pure, weapons-grade shit, especially the most recent one (Box Office Bust). It's possible that people may just not be differentiating between those and the earlier Al Lowe-created games, which were far better. That and there's the fact that even the older LSL games were a fair bit more on the risque side than the norm, and lots of people really do like them some high horses, after all.
