Date: 2017-11-17 08:14 pm (UTC)From:I'll be picking that up tomorrow. So long as it works well enough on this comp I'll probably be making it the target of this weekend's game night. (Of which will be the first real game night in a month or so. ^^)
Zun apparently said depending on how this launch goes he may make the earlier official games available on steam as well. At 17 dollars each (cdn) that's pretty much definite sales for me.
Official release is japanese only but I'm pretty sure there's a fan patch for that already.

Date: 2017-11-18 11:46 pm (UTC)From:Zun however is pretty much an Anti-Nintendo when it comes to fanmade games/art/music/etc. Which is why there's all sorts of fan games that are available - including for sale. (Zun has essentially given the ok for fan games being sold.)
I've been picking up various games as they're released on the PS4 for instance (Re-releases of older PC games) There's usually some kind of bullet hell incorporated into many of those games but they aren't done the same way as a standard Touhou game.
For instance you oculd check out Scarlett Curiosity. It's been re-released on the PS4 (granted this is for if you ever get a ps4.) It's far more action/adventure, but later in the games some of the more powerful enemies still fire a heck of a lot of bullets.
There are a couple of fighting games as well, although neither have been re-released yet. One that stands out in my mind is Immaterial & Missing Power. This game is like a decade old mind you. Pretty sure another fighting game was released later on but can't remember much of it.
