I'm linking to this more for the attached recording of the radio interview than for the article, but the article's okay, too.

This post here is essentially a sequel to an earlier post I made back in March. I'm just going to copy/paste some rantage I did over on Facebook into this post.

There are two different cons that have been pulled on the conservative/Republican rank and file, and even on more than a few liberals/Democrats and independents and such.

Keith Olbermann rants crazily, so that I don't have to.

I've already made my opinion of the whole Hillary Clinton email brouhaha evident in previous posts here and elsewhere, most recently over here in this Twitter thread.

But since Trump and Trumpster fires, as Keith Olbermann said, cannot. Leave it. Alone. Let's talk about this shit, one more time.

Let's talk about how the Clinton campaign had already floated the possibility that the leaked emails, at least some of them anyway, were probably fake. Whether this was done by the Russians who first got their hands on the emails prior to handing them to Wikileaks or by Wikileaks itself, we don't, won't, and can't know, really. But the possibility is there and has always been there.

However, this possibility that at least some of the emails (likely the most damaging ones) were doctored has flown almost entirely under the radar. It seems to me like just about everyone, on both sides of the issue, has more or less just accepted at face value that all of these leaked emails are legit, when there's a very real possibility that they're not to be trusted, considering the source.

The source? Russia, again. This was a calculated operation, ordered by Putin, specifically to cause to happen what did happen, i.e. Trump is now the Dumbass Elect of the United States of America. Why would Trump help the Russians? They probably have dirt on him. Trump says it's all "fake news," but then, of course, Trump is a well known pathological liar, so...

As such, it is my not at all humble opinion that anyone and everyone who has been within smelling distance of Donald Trump and his presidential campaign for at least the past year or more needs to be investigated to within an inch of their lives. Start with Trump himself and work down, or start from the outside to build a case and save Trump for last, I don't care, but it needs to happen. This includes everyone on his campaign staff. This includes everyone on his transition staff. This includes Mike Pence. This includes everyone Trump has picked for his Cabinet. This includes Trump's staunchest supporters in Congress. This includes Trump's potential SCOTUS picks. And this includes, at the very least, James Comey of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (but likely others within that organization), given that it was Comey's asinine letter to Congress just a couple weeks before the election which brought the whole email issue roaring back into the public consciousness (not that Trump or his Trumpster fires had ever truly allowed it to leave the public consciousness), even as Comey admits now that the Russians hacked the Republicans as well, but just didn't leak any of their shit.

And, hell, if anything, this should throw a shadow of doubt over everything that has ever been leaked by Wikileaks, not just the DNC and Clinton emails, but also the stuff that had Sarah Palin calling Assange "an anti-American operative with blood on his hands" and had Donald Trump musing about death penalties. (But if it's something that helps their side, they're all for it. Go figure.)

But but but Hillary... but what about her emails...

Hillary Clinton has been mostly out of the public eye since the election. (Though the few times she's been seen, she appears to be doing okay.) Hillary Clinton is more or less a non-factor at this point. I don't think anyone, now, is truly still expecting a bona fide miracle to happen that will somehow get her into the White House, and for Trumpster fires to continue to harp on Hillary and her emails just shows how desperate they really are.

No, this is about Donald Trump now, pure and simple. Trump, as I said in that Twitter thread above, is the one still in the news, still saying and doing asinine bullshit. Still harping on about the Russian hacks, even though it actually would be in his best interests to shut his stupid fucking mouth, for once, before he really sticks his foot in it. Though, by all means, if Trump wants to continually risk saying something that he truly can't walk back the next day, he should go right on ahead and do so. The more fuel on the fire building under him the better, as far as I'm concerned.

Trump and his Trumpster fires called her "Crooked Hillary" and chanted "lock her up," when it's really Crooked Donnie who should be in prison, rather than in the Oval Office. It's actually kind of amusing that it was this attempt by Trump and his Russian buddies to discredit Hillary that will, in a truly just world, be the thing that is the ruination of Trump. Sadly, though, we don't live in a truly just world.

Now that the Electoral College has failed to do its proper job (which it was never going to do in the first place, despite the pie in the sky pipe dreams of too many of us) and has instead decided to just rubber stamp Trump and let him breeze on into the White House, many of us (i.e. critics/foes/haters of Trump) are asking variants of the same question. "What now?" "What do we do now?" "What's going to happen now?"

Keep this in mind as you ask these questions. Imagine that the situation were reversed. Imagine that Hillary Clinton had won the Electoral College vote, but had lost the popular vote by almost 3,000,000 votes. Imagine that Hillary Clinton was doing (or being accused of doing) even a minuscule fraction of all the horrendous bullshit that Donald Jank-as-Fuck Trump is currently doing (or is being accused of doing). What would all the Trumpster fires out there be doing right now? Picture that for a moment. Feel that shiver of revulsion up your spine? Yeah. What we need to be doing right now is the sensible equivalent to what they'd be doing in our place.

Let me stress, however, that "sensible equivalent to" bit, there. If you read the above and immediately picked up a gun, then you're doing it wrong. It isn't the time for guns (yet). Sure, if the situation was indeed reversed, Trumpster fires would most likely already be a month and a half into a literal armed rebellion by now, true enough, but as always, we shouldn't be sinking to their, yes, deplorable level. So put the guns down (for now). We should do everything legally within our power to oppose the Trump administration, because the Trump administration is inevitably going to attempt to do terrible things. Indeed, given the fact that Trump is picking for his Cabinet people who are all pretty much diametrically opposed to the very departments to which he is appointing them, it's already clear that the Trump administration is destined to be the worst ever.

But what do we do if legal means aren't enough? If you've been paying the least bit of attention at all for the past few decades, then you've probably noticed that in GOP-controlled city, county, state, and even federal government, there have been lots of asinine political maneuverings and laws passed to try to preserve their power. All the gerrymandering and "legal" voter suppression. All of that shit. So, yeah, legal means may not be enough. It may become necessary to break some laws. I'm still not suggesting violence, though.

If it comes to that, what I am suggesting, especially if you're in one of the minorities that Trump casually dismisses as rapists or terrorists or whatever, is that we should now be thinking of ways to sit at the front of the bus, sit at the counter and not budge an inch, stand in front of the tanks. Protest, peacefully.

But if it should come to pass that violence actually does become necessary? Heaven forbid it ever reaches that point. I don't have any advice for you if it ever does get that terrible, even if that may indeed be a real possibility. I freely admit that if I were to ever find myself facing down a foaming-at-the-mouth Trumpster fire, drawing a bead on me with an AR-15 or whatever, if I had to shoot them (assuming I even had a gun myself in the first place, which would be unlikely), I'd probably end up blowing my own fingers off before I came within even a mile of hitting the crazy asshole. So... yeah... let's not let it get to the point of violence, if we can at all avoid it. And, if it ever does get to the point of violence, let's hope that a good percentage of the US Armed Forces will do the right thing and not blindly follow the orders of the soon to be Megalomaniac-In-Chief, who will most assuredly be trying to turn their weapons against us, if it ever does reach that point.

In any case, it's already well-known that our current Fascist-Elect is an asshole. He always has been and always will be. Donald Trump cares about one person, and that person is Donald Trump. There's no changing that. We do not owe him an ounce of respect, and this goes above and beyond mere retaliation for the lack of respect that the GOP as a whole has shown President Obama for the past eight years, though I'm sure that's a factor too. He's also almost assuredly literally guilty of high treason, and hopefully the truth of this will rise to the surface before too long, despite the best efforts of Trump and his Trumpster fires to suppress it. This needs to be investigated the fuck out of, and the connections between Trump and the foreign hackers who unduly influenced the election, which I fully believe are there to be found, need to be found and exposed. Until then, all we can do is continue to oppose Trump, in any ways possible. As Mitch McConnell said about Obama in 2010, we need to do everything in our power to make sure that Trump is a one-term fascist leader. Hypocritical? Sure. But turn about is fair play, in this case. Turning the other cheek just gets both cheeks hit.

Get ready to be repeatedly told to "grow up," "get over it," "move on," and such by Trumpster fires. Get ready to be threatened. Ignore them. Again, if the situation was reversed, they'd have already marched on Washington with their microscopic penis overcompensation devices proudly held high, and they fucking well know it.

As Keith Olbermann says at the end of every one of his recent political rants: "Resist. Peace." Both of those words are important. But just be aware that the time may well come when the first word is more important than the second one.

(EDIT) Last edit: December 12, 2016, to add episode #10. Okay, so 10 episodes per post will be the limit. I'll start a new post for the next 10. (/EDIT)

I'm just going to leave these here. Watch them if you want. Or not. I think they're pretty important, anyway, for the most part. *shrug*

I'll add and update this post with more embeds below as more such videos are made. Or I might split it into another post (or more) if/when it starts to get a bit crowded. I obviously have no idea how long Mr. Olbermann will continue with this series, after all.

Damn, but I really wish I'd seen this article back in September when it was first published.

TL;DR version: Donald Trump is, and always has been, GamerGate, writ large.

(EDIT) Also, this. (/EDIT)

[1] - Hmm, though I've been using the phrase "Irredeemably Toxic Shithole" exclusively to refer to GamerGate, it would actually also serve well as an accurate description of Trump and his incoming administration. I think I'll just stick to using it as a stand-in for "GamerGate," though, and not conflate this shit.

When I started the entry in my pencil-and-paper journal this morning, I hadn't been planning or intending to write so much about this bullshit again, but... I did, and there it is. *shrug*

I know I'm pretty much shouting into the void here with these Twitter rehash posts on LJ, but fuck it, I don't care. It's cathartic, if absolutely nothing else.

Previous post in this annoyingly ongoing series.

Just don't forget, President (*ugh*shiver*) Trump: half the country still hates your goddamn guts and thinks you are a fucking disgusting asshole. Prove us wrong.

So, unless the anti-miracle happens and Trump actually wins, this will hopefully be the final of these posts, as I don't intend to post about Trump's inevitable whiny bitching when he does lose (though I'll most likely change my mind and do so anyway *shrug*).

Previous post for reference and all that.

Just a few more days... just a few more days... ;_;

Here's the previous post, as always. (Also, this one will have a few more "generally political" tweets mixed in with the "Trump-specific" shit.)

So yeah, I'm sick of it. All of it. I've already voted, and nothing anyone says or does now will be able to change who I voted for.

As for this new so-called "bombshell" in the ongoing HRC email "scandal," which Donald Jerkhole Trump laughably, ludicrously claimed is "bigger than Watergate," so far, once again, it is nothing but pure speculation and trumpery on the part of Trump and everyone else who is making a mountain out of a molehill. So they found a few more emails. So fucking what. Until and unless something actually substantive comes of it, which I very seriously doubt will ever happen, I wish everyone would just shut the hell fuck shit up about it. (EDIT) And just as I expected, it was all a load of bullshit. Not that it much mattered in the end, since goddamned Trump fucking won anyway. (/EDIT)

Link to previous, which has links to all the others before that. A few of these are less Trump-specific and more just generally politics-related.

Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, if you care.

These aren't all the tweets I make (and retweet) lately... just the vast majority of them.

For the (dubious) benefit of the, like, one person on my LJ friends list who isn't also on my Twitter followers/followees lists. You know who you are. But mostly because I just feel like doing this for its own sake. (In lieu of writing actual posts anymore, I guess? *shrug*)

This time it's mostly just a bunch of retweets, rather than tweets of my own. Though since some of those are retweets of other retweets, and the original tweets don't show up properly in the embeds, I've also included the original tweets that were retweeted which I then reretweeted, even though I didn't retweet the original tweets myself. Ugh, Twitter terminology sucks ass.

That last one there by Starla I feel is especially important.
