One of the quickest ways to have me mark a game on Steam as "ignored" is if that game comes with a disclaimer of "Notice: <Game> requires a controller in order to play. Playing with a keyboard and mouse isn't supported."
Very simple. As I've said before, if your game comes out on PC, but doesn't support keyboard and mouse, then as far as I am concerned, your game may as well not have come out at all.
In fact, when I said it before, it was even about this very same game I'm saying it about right now, though I didn't know that when I started this post here. So, on top of the above rant, I'm going to additionally rant about this same game showing up in my Steam discovery queue again, even though I already marked it as ignored once before (and have now done so again, because it wasn't marked as ignored anymore, for some reason). Not sure what's up with that, aside from Steam being shitty, I guess.

Date: 2020-05-02 10:40 pm (UTC)From:That said, though, I'm not seeing it mentioned in the reviews or on the forums for the game if it's the case, so maybe not. Usually, when a pub/dev tries to pull a fast one like that, the new page tends to get review-bombed again in retaliation, and the forums are usually clogged with threads about it. Unless this game is just too obscure for anyone to care all that much... I'd certainly never heard of it prior to seeing it in relation to the stuff I was complaining about.

I do know that Steam still shows shit in the discovery queue from publishers I've ignored, though. I've had Kagura Games and similar pubs/devs that release nothing but hentai games ignored on Steam for years now, and yet, despite that, I'm still seeing their games showing up in my discovery queue. I've also reported the issue to Steam multiple times, but nothing useful ever happens as a result. But that's another thing I've already ranted about before.

Definitely something they need to fix imo as well. If you ignored something, for whatever reason, it should not show up in the suggestions unless you're explicitly doing a search for something it would qualify as a result.
Can't say I really give a shit for most of the recommendations they give me as well, if we're going to gripe about this! :D I don't know how many times I've had some game recommended to me because I recently played game A, B, and C. But looking at games A, B, and C... it's clear that the recommendation is nothing at ALL like them.

Date: 2020-05-04 11:43 pm (UTC)From:When I finally took the "VR" tag off my blocked tags list, because I found out it was blocking some games that don't actually require VR, practically every game in the next half dozen or so queues was some kind of VR game (whether required or optional). I guess they felt like I needed to catch up, since I'd missed out on all those VR-required games I didn't and still don't care about. If I ever took "MMO" or "MOBA" or "eSports" out of the block list, I'm sure the next several queues would be filled up with that horseshit, too.
