Mass Effect 2
Jan. 27th, 2010 01:00 amMass Effect 2 comes out today. Hopefully, it will be waiting for me when I get home, though I may not actually start playing it today because I still want to finish my current playthrough of the first game. I hope ME2 is at least as good as ME1, which was the primary reason I bought a 360 a few years ago.
Also, I really hope there is some Elcor Hamlet in ME2.
(EDIT)
As I expected, I didn't get to start ME2 tonight. I just got finished with my Lvl 60 playthrough of ME1 just a few minutes ago (12:30am 01-27-200910, grr I'm going to be doing that for the next three or four months, I just know it). This playthrough was intended to be the "make all the decisions I want to carry over into ME2" playthrough, and it mostly went as I wanted except for one rather major thing.
I somehow managed to break the romance with Ashley. I don't know what happened or what I messed up, but it just didn't work. I was talking up both her and Liara, and was expecting to get the "You have to choose one or the other of us" cutscenes as I had in my previous two playthroughs, at which point I was going to choose Ashley, but it never happened. The Liara romance went forward, and when it got to the point where she wanted to "do something that will show just what we mean to each other (i.e. we should have sex before we all die horrible deaths)" I told her to hit the road. This hopefully will kill the Liara romance going into ME2. The more I think about it too, this could end up actually being a good thing, because now I am free to pursueone of the new romance optionsTali in ME2, without having to worry about whatever consequences there may have been for cheating on Ash or Liara (which I wouldn't have done if the Ashley romance had actually worked). And to be quite honesty, if Tali had been available in ME1, I would have chosen her over both Ashley and Liara in a heartbeat anyway, so I guess it will all work out in the end.
As a totally unrelated aside, as of this edit, I am now using a USB keyboard to type out these things on the Wii, which is infinitely better than having to use the Wiimote all the time. Still don't have cut/copy/paste or such on the Wii, but even so the keyboard is still much better than using the Wiimote. Speaking of which, three things were delivered today: the aforementioned keyboard, Mass Effect 2, and lastly volumes 2 and 3 of the Angry Video Game Nerd DVDs (which I had ordered about three weeks ago and had completely forgotten about). So, happy birthday to me indeed.
