Dear human beings who drive motor vehicles,

Pay very special attention to what I am about to say here. If you happen to see me standing there on the sidewalk waiting to jaywalk, I have a simple, easy to follow request for you: don't stop in the middle of the bloody road and hold up traffic and then blow the horn at me because I refuse to rush out in front of you.

Look, I know you thought you were being nice or helpful or considerate or whatever, but trust me, I got this handled. I've done this a hundred times before. I neither want nor need you to stop in the middle of a busy street and hold up traffic on my account, especially when there is a big long line of cars behind you. I can wait until it's legit clear. I'm in no hurry. I'm jaywalking. I do not have the right-of-way, so don't act like I do.

Granted, I may well be speaking just for myself here, but I seriously don't want you stopping on my account, especially when I'm looking in the other way to see if it's clear and am not paying particular attention to you (mainly because I'd already seen that there was a huge line of cars coming from that direction and, thus, it ordinarily wouldn't have been clear that way for a little while).
