Just once, I'd like to finish a project without wasting several hours debugging what invariably turns out to be some retarded little logic error or something equally asinine.

I still remember a project in my second year CS class that we were debugging for hours until we found the mistake was switched true/false conditions.

Another one was in the summer-long research project I did that involved HTTP client interfacing, and we were getting all kinds of strange behavior that we literally spent days trying to fix -- finally we figured out that we had spelled one of the fields as "referrer" instead of the misspelled "referer" like it is in the HTTP spec, and that was causing all of our stuff to fail.
