As much as I enjoy watching videos about that annoyed parrot-like creature that appears to be angry about something (his words!) I have to admit I'm pissed at how they keep making their videos region locked to the US.
Almost all of the videos you link end up as unavailable to me. :/
What do you usually use to end up watching it? I could start directly linking to that instead. Right now, I'm just embedding the video from the official Last Week Tonight account. Yeah, I don't know why they think it's good to region lock their shit.
On the bright side, at least you miss out on all the extremely asinine, 4chan/alt-right/"free-thinking"[1] comments underneath the official video, which I never don't regret looking at, and yet I keep doing it like some kind of masochistic moron. >_>;
[1] - I've long noticed that pretty much anyone who self-describes as a "free-thinker" on social media is almost invariably a part of the 4chan/alt-right/Trumpanzee/"don't watch mainstream media, only Faux Noise tells the truth" subset of the population. It's almost like "free-thinker" is some kind of code-word/dogwhistle, sort of like what that red X and Pepe the Frog have become.
I normally watch it right there on Youtube - when they decide us canadian peasants deserve to watch a video.
Last two videos they have up that are available to me are the Retractions and Lost Graphics Vol 3. Prior to that the last one available to me is the Crisis Pregnancy Centers report from 5 months ago. Including those 3 there are a total of 18 videos that are earlier than 1 year old.
As for comments, I virtually never read youtube comments even accidentally. I've checked a couple under some Angry Joe videos just to see if they're acting retarded or not but even then 99.9% of the time I just don't check them out.
As for why they region lock it's because of $$$ most of the time. They probably have some contract set up with a canadian broadcasting company to have exclusive rights to it, or just their canadian branch of HBO, etc. That's the usual culprit for shit like this anyway otherwise I don't see why they'd region lock and artificially reduce the number of views they get on youtube which would link to a reduced revenue stream from it.
Here is a DailyMotion link to the full episode, considering that they apparently don't want you to watch the excerpt of it on Youtube. The Facebook bit starts at around 9:15 or so. Looks like other full episodes are on DM as well. (EDIT) Assuming, of course, that you can actually see those either... >_> (/EDIT)
You did -not- just show me where to find full episodes of Last Week Tonight. Do you have no compassion for the serious lack of free time you've just foisted on me? I was barely getting anything done as it is dammit!
Given that there's shit there that I haven't seen either (since I usually only watch the excerpts they post on their Youtube page), I'll probably be losing a fair bit of time there myself. ^^;
