Ray Bradbury says Fahrenheit 451 was not about government censorship, but instead about television and how it destroys interest in literature.

I think I'm going to have to read that again now. It has been... ...quite a few years since I last read it.

Interesting stuff, especially when you note that the giant, flat-panelled TV's really do exist, and television is pretty much the opiate of the masses.

I still like it for its dystopian overtones, though.
