Yeah, this just feeds into my "not going to hold my breath on that" stance. As much as the world would be better off otherwise, Trump's probably not going to be charged with his crimes, and if he is charged, he's probably not going to be convicted. Because the world fucking sucks.

And, once again, while I think that Trump is, has been, and always will be a vile shithead, Bitch McConnell is, was, and will continue to be the far bigger threat to America. He's the one I really want gone forever. (EDIT, May 2025) Since Trump has been (somehow) reelected to SCROTUS IMPOTUS in 2024 and has spent the first part of his reign of terror in 2025 being a massive, massive piece of shit (to the point that even McConnell has, at times, criticized him), I have revised my assessment of Trump, in relation to McConnell. Trump is way worse. No doubt about that. It's just that Trump would not be President now if McConnell had done his fucking job properly back when Trump was impeached the first time, rather than treating it all like a big joke and acquitting him. (/EDIT, May 2025) But even Bitch McConnell, like Trump, is merely a symptom of the bigger problem, i.e. the far, far too large percentage of the population who stupidly, ignorantly, gullibly, hatefully, mistakenly believe that McConnell, and Trump, did and are doing a fine job.

Apparently, they're calling for another huge fuck you winter snow/ice/hail/hell storm starting tonight and lasting until Friday or whenever. So, that probably means that the power will go out again at some point during that time period for who knows how long.

Also, when I went to the grocery store today, they were completely out of milk, completely out of bread, and completely out of bananas. They only had a few cartons of eggs, and only one jar of peanut butter. It was fucking ridiculous. People acting like it's the end of the goddamn world or some shit.

So, yeah, I goddamn hate this fucking time of year. Winter can eat my entire ass, shit and all.

Since an assload of trees already fell during the previous shit, hopefully that means that all of the ones that were going to fall have already fallen, so maybe there won't be quite as much horseshit going on as a result of this storm here. I'm not going to count on that being the case, though. I fully expect the power to go out for a while at some point.

"We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he was doing. We sent him there to represent us."

"Him" being Pat Toomey, one of the very few Republican Senators who broke ranks with the Trumpublicans and actually voted correctly to convict Trump during the second impeachment trial (for what good it did). By the way, Pat Toomey is a Senator for Pennsylvania, a state that, you know, Trump lost, so it looks like he was representing the majority of his constituents, in this case.

So yeah, that pretty much says it all. The GOQP[1] in 2021, ladies and gentlemen. "We do not want our politicians to actually do the right thing. We want them to represent asshats like us, to whom 'the right thing' is like a crucifix to Dracula." It's also the real reason why they elected Trump himself in the first place.

I was actually shocked and vaguely pleased that Richard Burr of North Carolina (i.e. the dumbass who was giving out fidget spinners during the first impeachment trial) voted to convict Trump this time, too. He's getting shit on for it, as well, which is sad and says more about how terrible the North Carolina GQP is than it says about Richard Burr. I mean, Richard Burr is mostly shit, too, but at least he did the right thing in this one particular case. (Again, for what good it did, which is probably the only reason he and the other guy above did it, since they knew it wouldn't actually matter and that Trump would still get acquitted even if they did vote to convict. There's also the fact that Richard Burr isn't running for reelection, so he didn't really have much to lose and thus probably didn't give much of a shit one way or the other, good or bad.)

Also, something something "cancel culture" or whatever.

[1] - Saw some people in the comments under those articles using GQP instead of GOP, and I like it. Think I'll start using it.
