The scale of things
Mar. 2nd, 2026 01:58 amSo I was looking at something or other on TVTropes, doesn't really matter what, but one thing lead to another, and I ended up on the Time Abyss page (not for the first time). At the bottom of that page, they have an excerpt of a little video describing scales of time (I'll refer back to this again in a bit).
That, in turn, led me to looking at the actual MetaBallStudios Youtube channel (for the first time), which is where that video originally came from. Most of the videos on that channel seem to be fun/cool/scary little things that describe the scales of varying concepts.
Like monsters.
Or space ships.
Those are neat and all, but I didn't go there for those small potatoes.
I mean, you might think space would win, right? But (back to the above) time dwarfs space.
Beyond that, it's just the concept of numbers itself. Unlike what that title of that video says, it doesn't actually go to infinity, obviously. If it tried to go to infinity, the video would have never ended. It stops at "merely" Rayo's number.
I'm not sure where my weirdo number would fit in that last one, but it's probably not as big as Rayo's number, just based on the very definition of Rayo's number.
