It's no surprise. NPR has the stink of actual journalism surrounding it, which the likes of Faux Noise and James O'Keefe just can't stand, since it's so foreign to them.

I really wish that NPR had only waited a couple days before reacting to that rancid O'Keefe video, since that's all it took to expose it for the fraud that it was, but there's not much they can do about that now. (It still amazes me that it was The Blaze of all things that broke that story. The crazy conspiracy theorist in me wants to say something asinine like "Bah, 'they' planned for O'Keefe to take a dive so that 'they' could build up Beck's credibility, and the fact that NPR caved in so quickly was just an added bonus for 'them'." You know, something like Glenn Beck himself would say if the situation was reversed. But (for now) I will give credit where credit is due. So, Glenn Beck's website The Blaze, good on you for once again exposing that fraud O'Keefe for the fraud he is.)

Then again, even if NPR hadn't immediately buckled, there are still far too many people in this country who willingly suck down the vile shit constantly vomited up by Faux Noise and then gleefully ask for seconds (including far too many in positions of power, though it's getting more and more difficult to tell who exactly are the ones that are actually pulling the strings) that no matter what NPR had done, they still would have been demonized in the eyes of these people. It's sad.

I'd hate to see NPR, or any other news organization for that matter, become the liberal equivalent to Faux Noise, yet something needs to be done to combat their brazen bullshit, at least more than is being done now. Sad thing is, there are so many people out there who just willfully ignore the lies and hypocrisy of Faux Noise (and those represented by them) that I don't even really know what can be done about it. If NPR and such don't fight back, they seem like pushovers, at best, or actually complicit in spreading the lies of Faux Noise themselves, at worst. If they do try to fight back, the screeches and shrieks of "LIBERAL BIAS!!!~2`1!!~eleven!!`1!!" all but completely drown them out. It's just ridiculous.

The worst thing of all, however, is that if you were to ask many conservatives/Republicans/Teabaggers they would tell you that the exact same thing is true of liberals/Democrats/(oh, wait, what's the equivalent of Teabagger on the other side?), except it would be reversed. I've definitely heard some Teabaggers demonizing NPR and the like in the same way that I and many others demonize Faux Noise, while at the same time singing the praises of Faux Noise as if it were the only sane source for news with everything else being the so-called "LIEberal media."

(EDIT)

"House votes to stop NPR funding"

I think Dr. Ian Malcolm said it best.

If this passes the Senate (which it won't, hopefully) and Obama signs it (which he won't), it wouldn't hurt NPR so much as a whole, but a lot of local stations would probably go dark. Which would be just as the Republicans/Faux Noise want it.
