"Hi. Well, we're doing this again.... I guess. So, let's ask the tough question: are Americans just plain stupid for electing Donald Trump?"

The gist of the above video:
  1. Voters in general = ignorant and gullible and inattentive and very checked out of politics on the whole (because politics, granted, is indeed very fucking banal and insane and enraging), but not necessarily full on stupid, and as such it almost, almost makes sense that more of them voted for the loud, obnoxious, brazen liar/con man/criminal who claims he very definitely has real, true, totally legitimate plans to Fix Everything™ instead of for the establishment bozos who appeared (to ignorant, gullible, inattentive, very checked out eyes) to have been, at best, keeping everything bad or, at worst, actively making everything worse, in large part because the loud, obnoxious, brazen liar/con man/criminal repeatedly, incessantly said they were.
  2. Democrats (specifically Democratic politicians) = very definitely stupid, for myriad reasons.
  3. Liberals (extended from Democrats and distinct from progressives [and mainly referring to vapid talking heads on the ol' boob tube and the not so ol' social media]) = apparently secretly racist, sexist, transphobic, MAGA-lite shitbags all along, who don't have a clue what they're talking about, because now they're apparently trying to blame "special interest groups" (like, you know, immigrants and trans people and Palestinians) instead of their namby pamby, wishy washy, milquetoast, "trying to please everybody but actually pleasing nobody" candidates (e.g. Biden and Harris, see point #2), even though said politicians didn't even really do all the "bad" stuff that the pundits are claiming cost them the election (e.g. "bad" stuff like "caring too much about" immigrants and trans people and Palestinians). Let's just say pants-on-head stupid and leave it at that, I guess.
  4. Republicans (specifically, the vile, self-centered, hypocritical asshats who knew and continue to know that Trump is eminently terrible and have explicitly said so in the past, but who now pretend to adore the taste of Trumpian dingleberries) = vile, self-centered, hypocritical asshats who slurp the shit on Trump's ass hair either out of cowardly fear of reprisal, out of the hope that Trump can directly benefit them at the expense of everyone else, and/or out of petty, hateful revenge for racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, etc. very stupid reasons.
  5. Some More News (both the creators and the fans of the show): could and should and need to do better.
  6. In conclusion: We, all of us, even those who voted for Trump, are almost assuredly about to be properly super fucked by Trump and his incoming administration of utter clowns (with apologies to clowns for the unfair comparison), and we need to be prepared for the consequences of that, despite the fact that this is a thing that was easily predicted and long foreshadowed due to the very words that have come out of the face-anuses of Donald Trump and those who disingenuously support Donald Trump. We're all in this together, whether we like it or not.

..."allegedly."

Trump's pick for Attorney General, everyone.
kane_magus: (Default)
Well, I suppose now I can no longer claim that nothing good can possibly come from Trump being elected.

(EDIT) Just to be more clear: Matt Gaetz no longer in Congress? Good thing. Matt Gaetz as Attorney General? Absolute boondoggle clusterfuck horrible thing. (/EDIT)

Come on, Trump, do something to upset Marjorie Taylor Greene or Lauren Boebert or Gym Jordan or Mike Johnson or any of those other Trumpublican bozos to get them all to resign, too. That would be super great.

Though, to be "fair" to Trump, Gaetz's resignation was much less about Trump picking him for AG and more about a looming report on an Ethics investigation into sex trafficking. On the other hand, to be not so fair to Trump, Dumbfuck Trump did just pick someone as fucking Attorney General who was under a fucking Ethics Committee investigation for sex trafficking in the fucking first place. Go fucking figure.

Then again, a guy doing sex crimes is probably right up Trump's alley. ¬_¬ In any case, what a fucking farce/travesty/abomination this incoming Trump administration is going to be, even when compared to the fucking farce/travesty/abomination that the previous Trump administration was. Remember what I said about Trump finding the absolute least qualified people to lead shit? This is another example of that for the shitpile.

"Hi. This week, we're looking at George Soros: where he came from, how he made his money, and why the right-wing obsessively thinks he's the puppetmaster behind everything they don't like."

Betteridge's law of headlines.
kane_magus: (Default)

"Hi. Let's look at some of the loudest, most perpetually online GOP politicians, and see if they're actually doing things that help their constituents. Next week we'll do the Democrats!"

I guess this video was only talking about people currently in Congress, because Donald Trump didn't dominate the entire video like he probably would have otherwise. Trump did get mentioned a few times and had a tiny bit of focus at the end, but it otherwise wasn't about him, despite the fact that he is the epitome of a "loud, celebrity politician."

Also, be warned: *weary sigh* Warmbo is in this, for some reason. And given how this episode ended, the next episode might be really skit heavy, assuming they try to have "continuity" or whatever.

<sarcastic monotone> Great. </sarcastic monotone>

A post on John Scalzi's Whatever.

Kevin McCarthy is out as House Speaker, and nothing of value was lost. However, I'm pretty sure that even less of value will replace him[1], unless Democrats and "moderate Republicans" (if such things even still exist) are able to work together and perform some kind of magic and get someone in there who isn't a complete and total dumbfuck. The chances of that happening currently hover roughly around "slim" and "none," though.

I will be so glad when this ridiculously bizarre GQP/Trumpublicanism Era of United States history is, finally, well and truly in the past for good, forever. Assuming such a thing happens relatively soon, that is. It may not happen in my lifetime, though, even if I somehow live to be a hundred, and that's utterly depressing. I figure that, at the very least, the Supreme Court will continue to be fucked because of this shit for the rest of my life span, at any rate, no matter what else may happen politically.

As usual, whenever egregious dumbshit like this happens, it reminds me of that George Washington quote, yet again.

Anyway, I like how that post by Mr. Scalzi there wasn't even really about Trump, but Mr. Scalzi still managed to get a few good zingers in against Trump all the same. And by "zingers" I mean "accurate, truthful descriptions."

[1] - And, in fact, already has, at least on a (very hopefully) temporary basis. One of the first acts of this new dipshit as Speaker pro tempore was to kick Nancy Pelosi (who is currently away from DC, at Dianne Feinstein's funeral in California) out of her office. So, yeah, this dickweed is already off to a great start. </sarcasm> That said, I'm sure all the Trumpanzees unironically loved that bit. *eye roll + weary sigh* (EDIT) As it turns out, Kevin McCarthy himself was apparently behind this petty bullshit. (/EDIT)

To hell with Matt Gaetz.

Rather than being pettily vindictive against Kevin McCarthy, Gaetz ought to have been getting down on his knees and kissing McCarthy's feet that he's even still able to be a petty, vindictive asshole on the floor of the House, instead of rotting in a prison cell like he deserves to be, the way his buddy is. (I mean, they all deserve to be rotting in a prison cell for one reason or another, but Gaetz especially so.)

Also, the fact that Matt Gaetz nominated Donald Trump, of all people, to be the Speaker[1] (even while Trump himself was shilling for McCarthy), just goes to show how fucked up stupid broken the GQP currently is. Hell, even the other Trumpanzee shithead that Gaetz nominated over McCarthy was also shilling for McCarthy.

Matt Gaetz is a rather dumb, hateful, evil guy, even by abysmal GQP standards. (But, apparently, not so dumb, hateful, and evil a guy that he's been asked by his fellow GQPers to stop serving as a Representative in the House. Go figure.)

With all of that said, if the antics of Gaetz (and McCarthy's other Trumpanzee detractors) ultimately ends up with Kevin McCarthy being in an overall less powerful, reduced position as Speaker of the House (such as when dealing with the Senate/President), on the one hand, then that's still good, regardless of the dumbfuck reasons behind Gaetz's antics. On the other hand, however, if this gives more power specifically to the Trumpanzee contingent, which includes Gaetz, within the GQP House (both within the House itself as well as in external dealings with the Senate/President), then that's very, very bad.

[1] - Which, while technically possible, is highly unlikely.

"Hi. Those Republicans sure are hypocritical, aren't they? In this episode, we take a look at some of the many things they are hypocritical about, and analyze what that says about who they are and what they really believe.

"Note: During a brief discussion of Gamergate in this video, we accidentally used the wrong pronouns to refer to Zoë Quinn, who uses they/them pronouns."

Before watching the video... well, I've already made my opinion of GQP hypocrisy known. I.e. their flagrant hypocrisy is horrendous, but they don't give the slightest shit, because they've learned that they don't need to.

Now, to watch the video, and I'll kind of do things a bit different this time... a sort of "live"-blogging thing, where I write this post as I watch it (well, pausing to write this post, then going back to it), as opposed to writing the whole thing after all is said and done. But I'll go ahead and put the "middle-finger-worthy" tag on here, before I even start, because I know it'll be apt.

Okay, first off, I don't have a "kanye west" tag, and I'm never going to have a "kanye west" tag, but if I had a "kanye west" tag, it would definitely be on this post. To hell with Kanye West forever. Also, to hell with Alex Jones, but that just tells you how far off the deep end Kanye West is now, when he's making Alex fucking Jones, of all people, seem like the reasonable one by comparison. Remember, Alex Jones himself was the guy who made Piers fucking Morgan, of all people, seem like the reasonable one by comparison, back in the day.

Man, I'm only like 8 minutes in, and it's already becoming a Who's Who of RWNJ All Stars video. Kanye West, Fucker Carlson, Elon Musk, Candace Owens, fuck even GamerGate is making a comeback in this shit, Ben Shapiro, Herschel Walker (I guess at this point [30 minutes in] this post has mostly just devolved into listing who is in the video, rather than making any actual commentary about them), Ted Cruz (still don't have and won't make a tag for that doofus), former NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch, Nick Adams (man, this dude just really seems to like Hooters), Matt Walsh (man, this dude just really seems to want to fuck 12 year olds), Marjorie Taylor Greene, Kevin McCarthy, Kari Lake, Steven Crowder, and lastly Donald Trump (took long enough [50-ish minutes in] to finally mention that particular bozo). And a few others like Charlie Kirk, Tim Pool, Matt Gaetz, etc., though they weren't explicitly talked about by Cody, were at least shown on screen by name.

And yeah, as Cody points out at the very tip end of the video, the GQP doesn't have the monopoly on hypocrisy... it's just that they're so much worse/better(?)/worse(??)/better(???) at being hypocrites than anyone else. And it's not necessarily the fact that they're hypocrites that is bad, in and of itself, but that the actual views/opinions/talking points/policy decisions about which they're being blatant hypocrites are the things that are bad (or good, if said things are things to which they are opposed).

"Hi. Here's a video about Ron DeSantis, Marjorie Taylor Green, and Matt Gaetz and how they all want to be the next Donald Trump."

Very middle-finger-worthy, this video.

"Hi. While Trump is getting impeached, again, lets not forget about the other non-Trump ghouls, including Ted Cruz, Josh Crawley, and Matt Gaetz, who caused the Capitol riots."

So, it's an hour long video about a whole bunch of people who should be going to prison but who won't be going to prison.

My middle fingers were up and facing the screen a whole lot during this video.
