Mother 3 fan translation is complete.
Man, I only made it up to Threed in EarthBound. Oh well. I guess I could hold out and finish EarthBound first, but.... nah.

But the lure of the finally playing the game for which I'd been waiting for over two years now overpowered the desire to continue playing its predecessor though. It still aggravates me that Nintendo didn't officially release this game here.

That one's tougher for me because the enemies are harder and, well, these guys explode when you kill them, causing guaranteed damage. And then after that you still have to hope Jeff has high enough IQ to be able to fix it during the night.
And the Gutsy Bat for Ness... I've never managed to get this one. Mostly because you can only get it from the Bionic Kraken, with the same chance as the previous two weapons, and they're only in the caves right before you get to Giygas himself. Since it's right before the end of the game, and you can't even leave that area once you're there, I've never bothered to make more than a token attempt at this one.
As for Mother 3, so far it's been very much awesome. But people weren't kidding when they said this game was darker than the previous one. Yeah, the quirkiness of the humor from the previous games is still there, but the underlying tone of the game is a lot more heavy. I mean... the first chapter alone... >_>;
