Of course they did.

In other news, grass is still green, generally speaking, the sky is still mostly of a bluish color, and water is, on the whole, still wet.

"Hi. The Supreme Court – which has never been an apolitical entity – has been coming out with some really frightening rulings lately and is likely to keep it up. That's because fringe right-wing groups have infiltrated the Supreme Court and are now circumventing democracy to make laws."

Even before I watch this video, based solely on the title and description, I just want to repeat once again that this is something that I predicted would be the case even as far back as when Trump was first elected as POTUS in 2016. This is not a prediction that I'm glad to have gotten correct, obviously. I sorely wish I would have been proven wrong.

Now to actually watch the video...

Oh, right, this video brings up something else that I've discussed quite a bit in the past, that being the unfortunate fact that Mitch McConnell, one of the most rancid shitstains to ever dirty a pair of underwear worn by collective humanity as a whole, is a person who is, horrifically, still alive and in a position of power. As much as I utterly loathe Donald Trump and wish that Trump could be launched into the sun inside of a very slow moving, poorly (or, perhaps, excessively) ventilated rocket, I hate Bitch McConnell even more than I hate Trump, as I've said before, and wish that McConnell could be strapped to the outside of that same rocket, preferably right in front of the engine exhaust part of it. And, honestly, even then, I would feel bad for the sun, due to it having been polluted by the insertion of these two vile puddles of human-shaped diarrhea via intentionally poorly-made rocket.

Needless to say, this was an extended-double-middle-finger video. I'll just say it yet again: the GQP and all of the infrastructure in place that supports the GQP needs to be dismantled and needs to cease to exist until the end of time and beyond. Because they are for damn sure proceeding full steam ahead on that whole "usurp[ing] for themselves the reigns of government; destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion" thing they they've been doing, flagrantly, for the past several decades.

(Also, I have added a new "supreme court" tag to this post, and at some point I will be back-tagging all the other posts I've made that mention it, however long that process may take, and I'm sure I'll probably miss a few as usual. [EDIT] Well, for now, I've gone back as far as the "politics" tag will let me, which is only 500 entries, which got me barely back as far as 2019, which sucks. That's where I gave up on it, at least for now. I guess, eventually, I need to break up the "politics" tag by year, the same as I've still to this day have not finished doing with the old "games" tag, so... yeah... I'll get right on that, I'm sure... *weary sigh* [/EDIT])

"Hi. Today we talk about the list of topics in the title, plus some other topics that aren't in the title. Topics like Only Fans, Proud Boys, Recalls and Batman V Superman. It's a real hodgepodge of terrible news. Yay."

"Hi. In today's episode, we do a deep dive on Brett Kavanaugh, The Federalist Society, and the rich, religious, conservatives who are taking over our courts."

It's almost amusing that "being a rapist" isn't even really the worst thing about Brett Kavanaugh. And this video isn't even mostly about Brett Kavanaugh, but about some other, even worse asshat that I'd never even heard of prior to watching this.

"Hi. Here is all the other terrible news you missed in 2020 while surviving a pandemic."

*looks down* Uh, I... think I got all the appropriate tags in there, at least for the stuff I have tags for, anyway, as there was a lot of stuff that I don't have tags for, like wildfires and boars and time travel and murder hornets and other such things...

And yeah, I kind of agree with Cody (except, you know, seriously instead of facetiously) in that I sort of wish that they could make these things without the time travel shenanigans and the hand puppets and whatnot. Oh well, at least Cody's jokes are slightly less non sequitur and forced than the ones on Last Week Tonight tend to be, so that's something, I guess?

As far as Tenet goes... I'd never even heard of that movie at all prior to watching the above video, so I had no idea what the joke was about, even when he explicitly said it was a Tenet joke. For some reason, at first, I thought he was saying "Tennant," as in David Tennant, and I was like, oh, has he been in something since Doctor Who? (And, apparently, he has, though it's nothing I've seen personally.)

Well, let's see how these conservatives like it when a Muslim school inevitably applies for public funding. Or, say, a Scientology school, or a Satanism school. Hell, if this shit goes through, I kind of hope that does happen, and sooner rather than later. And the first one of those conservatives that whines that Muslim/Scientology/Satanism/whatever-explicitly-non-Christian-religious schools shouldn't be receiving taxpayer money is the first one that needs to sit the hell down and shut the hell up.

"'We are a Muslim family and I want those values taught at school,' she said. 'Our morals as a society come from the Quran. I feel we are being excluded simply because we are people of religious background.'"

"'We are a Satanist family and I want those values taught at school,' she said. 'Our morals as a society come from the Satanic Bible. I feel we are being excluded simply because we are people of religious background.'"

"'We are a Scientologist family and I want those values taught at school,' she said. 'Our morals as a society come from Dianetics. I feel we are being excluded simply because we are people of religious background.'"

Okay. I'm once again reinstating my self-imposed (but long since abandoned) moratorium on reading, and, more importantly, ranting about political shit. At least, I'm going to try it for a while, anyway. Maybe a week, maybe two, maybe a month, hopefully longer.

The way I see it, I already know for a stone cold fact that I'm going to be voting for any and all Democrats come November. No amount of anti-Trump/anti-Trumpanzee news is going to somehow make me vote even harder against them. That's not a thing that is even possible at this point. As such, there's just no point in bothering with it. And no rant by me is going to change anyone's mind about Trump (especially since, given how curated my FB feed and f-list is, it's mostly just being seen by those who already agree with me, for the most part [or at least, I assume and hope that's the case... if not... I'm not sure I even want to know]). Lastly, nothing I say or share or "retweet" or whatever is going to magically remove Trump (and McConnell and Graham and Kavanaugh and... etc.) from office.

Mainly, this means no more Seth Abramson threads for a while. But also, no more other shit, either. Just today, I (re-)added NPR and BBC to my FB feed, but now I'm going to turn right around and take them back off again. That was probably the tipping point for this decision, in fact.

It probably won't make me happier, per se, to do this, but I think it'll at least maybe help a little with the all the headaches (both literal and figurative).

The only thing I won't be eschewing is Some More News by Cody Johnston. ¬_¬

Recently, I found a song that, more often than not these days, perfectly captures how I feel about a variety of topics, such as politics and the antics of the modern video game industry, among many, many others.

Today, especially, it has been on infinite auto-repeat in my head for most of the day, so far.

Here is that song. (NSFW warning due to egregious profanity.)

Here is an over-twice-as-long version of the same:

Regarding Joe Biden and his touchy-feely stuff that he's getting criticized for now: I'm not saying that's a bad thing that he got in trouble for that. He should have been criticized for that. It was pretty creepy. That said, I think his response to the criticism was fairly measured and appropriate. He acknowledged what he'd done and promised to knock it off and do better. I'm not sure if that response is going to be "good enough," but we'll just have to wait and see on that, I guess. And I'm not at all sure that Biden would have been the guy that I would back in the Dem primaries in the first place, even before all this stuff suddenly started getting a spotlight on it, so... eh... *shrug*

What I really want to say, though, is that any and all Trumpanzees out there, i.e. all the morons who still to this day mindlessly, rabidly, militantly support SCROTUS Dick "Grab Them By The Pussy" Tater no matter what he says or does (along with other guys like pedophile Roy Moore and rapist Brett Kavanaugh and such ilk, who they also shamelessly backed), and who have been hypocritically trying to take Biden to the woodshed over the above issues, these people have my most sincere and heartfelt urging to go, as quickly as they can, and eat at least twice their body weight in their own fecal matter, choke on that fecal matter, and die a most ignominious death.

(In related news [related because of Hurricane Michael and climate change and whatnot], I am back home, with electricity, and with Internet. All three of those things have not been simultaneously true since last Thursday, until this morning.)

"That's not how trade negotiations work, you dumb motherfucker."

That's pretty much Trump's presidency in a nutshell: everyone else saying "That's not how [insert thing here] works, you dumb motherfucker."

"How on Earth did Navarro get a job at the fucking White House?" John Oliver asks.

Because Trump has a penchant for picking people who are 100% ass-backwards wrong for the positions he picks them for, because either (1) Trump is a dumbshit moron who is badly playacting at being the President because has no goddamn clue what he is actually doing, (2) he is actively, maliciously seeking to intentionally harm the United States on Putin's orders, or (3) some combination of (1) and (2).

(EDIT) With the creation of this new last week tonight tag, I also went and posted some videos that I had apparently only posted to Facebook previously (with the DW posts backdated to when those videos were published on Youtube, rather than when I posted them on FB). I don't know if all of that shit spammed the feeds of whoever is still paying any attention to me on here (*waves at [personal profile] owsf2000*), and if it did, I apologize. I didn't notice the "Don't show on Reading Pages" button when changing the dates until after I'd already posted most of them. (EDIT 2) And it apparently did, because I just looked at Mord's reading page and they're all showing up on there. Oops. >_>; (/EDIT 2) (/EDIT)
